Widgets- A widget is anything that can be embedded within a page of HTML, commonly known as a web page. Embeddable chunks of code have existed since the start of the World Wide Web. A widget adds some content to that page that is not static. Generally widgets are third party originated, though they can be home made. Widgets are also known as modules, snippets, and plug-ins. Widgets often take the form of on-screen tools such as clocks, event countdowns, auction-tickers, stock market tickers, flight arrival information, daily weather, and more Widgets can be added to blogs, profile pages, basically any web page that allows HTML coding. There are basically three different categories of widgets: Virtual Pet Widgets, Widget Games, and Widget Tools. Virtual Pet Widgets: Virtual Pet widgets are fun little computer pets. These widgets make a fine addition to your home page, My Space page, blog, or other web pages that you want to add an interactive widget. Widget Games: While you will probably only add video and game widgets to your blog or personal websites, You Tube videos are a great way to add an extra feature to your website.
