Gathering Information-
One of the most important components of  creating a quality website is gathering and organizing all the information. Understanding the type of website your are creating will help define the type of information you will need to collect. Whether you create your website yourself or have someone design it for you, the content is still your responsibility. After all no one else knows your business or personal information better than you!

Define your Website Goal:
All websites are created for a particular purpose. Some were created so that their owners can sell something. Other websites are information resources, and still others are designed to showcase their owner's talents, such as websites displaying the owner's resumes and portfolios. Once you define the goal, you will want to make sure you have all the information you need to achieve the website goal and have that information organized in a user friendly design.

Complete Website Creations Questionnaire:
Website Creations has created a basic questionnaire to help webmasters gather all the needed information for completing a website. While some questions may need to be slightly edited to fit the goals of your website, these questions will provide a strong guide in assisting you to gather all the information you will want and need for a quality website. In the end regardless of who creates your website you will be much better prepared after completing the questionnaire. Simply click on the link to the Website Creations questionnaire and either copy and paste it to a word document or  print it out to use as template for your information gathering.

Keywords and Keyword Density:
As soon as you you begin talking about creating a website, you will begin to hear about keywords. Put simply a keyword is a term that captures the essence of the topic of a web site or page. The keywords in your web pages are counted and indexed by search engines and used to direct people to your website. Read our full page on keywords and keyword density for a complete  explanation of key words and why they are so important. Key words are the key to getting Google and other search engines to send people to your website! As you gather information for your website, try to focus on the keywords you will want to add into your content as often as possible.

Website Usability:
The usability of your website is important to help you achieve your goal. The basic question that you need to address when dealing with usability is: "Can your visitors easily access the information they need on your website so that they can do the stuff that you want them to do"? There are quite a number of things involved in this question. Is the information that your visitors need to make informed decisions available on your website? For example, before they can buy a product, they will want to know more about that product. A brief one-line summary about your product's features may work for your main web page, but you will probably find that you get more buyers if you can provide a link to a  web page that gives a detailed list of features of each of your products. Not only must your information be available to your visitors, it must be easily accessible. A page that gives a detailed description of your products is not going to help your visitors if they have to work hard at finding it.
